Automatic Upgrades on the Freemium Plan
If you need to use more than 10 minutes in a 30-day cycle, we will automatically add 100 minutes, good until the end of your current monthly cycle, for only $2! Additional minutes can also be added by yourself for the same amount. Please note, you can receive up to 3 automatic voice top-ups when you run out of minutes in a 24-hour period.
If you need to use more than 10 messages (SMS) in a 30-day cycle, we will automatically add 100 messages, good until the end of your current monthly cycle, for only $2! Additional messages can also be added by yourself for the same amount. Please note, you can receive up to 3 automatic text message top-ups when you run out of messages (SMS) in a 24-hour period.
If you need to use more than 25MB in a 30-day cycle, we will automatically upgrade your plan to the 50 minutes, 50 text messages, and 500MB of LTE data plan, good until the end of your current monthly cycle, for only $8!

After that, additional LTE data can be added to your account manually, starting at just $3 for 100MBs.
If you prefer to manage your Top Ups and credit additions manually, please consider upgrading to one of our 250 minutes/Unlimited text or Unlimited talk and text plans. Click here to learn how to upgrade.
Automatic Upgrades on Other Talk, Text and Data Plans
When you are on one of our upgraded calling plans, you will not incur an Automatic Top Up. Instead, when you run out of minutes, text messages, or data, your account will enter an Airtime Expired status.
Upgrade your plan or add additional credits to your account, in order to resolve the Airtime Expired status and switch to Active status.
To upgrade your plan, log in at https://www.freedompop.com/my-lines and click on your line. Select CHANGE PLAN to choose a different calling plan. If you upgrade, a new 30-day cycle will begin right away and the line's renewal date will change.
To add credit to your account, log in at https://www.freedompop.com/my-lines, click on the line you'd like to manage, and then select 'GET / MANAGE ADD ONS'.
Add 100 minutes to your account for $2, add 100 text messages for $2, or add LTE data starting at 100MBs for $3. Credits expire at the end of your billing cycle. Any Add-Ons you purchase will not roll over to the next month of service.
What if I run out of minutes or text messages?
If you run out of minutes or text messages in your plan, unfortunately, you will not be able to make or receive any more calls and you will not be able to send or receive any more texts. Please upgrade to one of our Unlimited Talk and Text plans.
What if I run out of data (MBs)?
The Automatic Top-Up feature, allows you to continue using your device, even when you have run out of data from your plan. You will incur a Top-Up charge of $20.00 when you reach your data limit. This puts $20 in credit onto your account and can be used towards data usage that exceeds your plan limit.
As you exceed your data plan limit, credit is deducted from your account, at your Additional Data Rate.
What is my additional data rate?
Your additional data rate will vary based on the plan you have signed up for.
$0.025/MB on Free plan
$0.02/MB on Paid plan
If you are on the free plan, $20 in Top Up credit gives you about 800 additional MBs of data.
If you are on an upgraded plan, $20 in Top Up credit gives you about 1000 additional MBs of data.
Credit can be used to cover data usage that goes beyond your data plan limit, but it cannot be used towards your monthly plan charge or any other service charges. Click here to learn more about Account Credit.
Keep in mind, we limit each account to seven top-ups per month. You can turn Top Ups off at any time. Click here to learn how.
What happens when you disable top-ups?
If you disable the Automatic Top-Up feature, your account will be suspended when you run out of data. You must sign up for the FreedomPop Safety Mode service to disable the Automatic Top-Up feature. Click here to learn more about the Safety Mode service.
Additionally, you can sign up for the FreedomPop Usage Alerts service from the Services section of our website, to receive text message alerts whenever you are approaching your data plan limit.
