What is an eSIM?
An eSIM is a digital replacement for the traditional physical SIM card. With an eSIM:
- You can swiftly transfer your cellular plan or set up a new one online.
- Multiple eSIMs can be stored on a single device, allowing you to use two phone numbers simultaneously.
It enhances security, as there's no physical SIM for someone to remove if your phone is misplaced or stolen.
Getting started with eSIM means you can make calls, send messages, and browse the web seamlessly.
FreedomPop proudly offers eSIM compatibility with our iPhones and monthly calling plans. Visit our website at freedompop.com/plans and select "eSIM" when choosing a plan.
When purchasing an iPhone, you also have the option to select a calling plan with eSIM. While the phone will be shipped to your address, the eSIM plan details will be promptly sent to your email.
What important information do I need to know when selecting eSIM?
- eSIM is available on the FreedomPop Mobile GSMA network.
- eSIM for GSMT is not available.
- At this time, eSIM is available through an online purchase only.
Visit freedompop.com/plans to get started.
Will my phone work with eSIM?
For eSIM compatibility, phones need to be carrier-unlocked.On dual SIM phones:
- eSIM can serve as your sole cellular plan.
- Alternatively, you can use a physical SIM card for the primary plan and an eSIM for the secondary one.
Note: iPhone 14 and iPhone 15 series phones are eSIM only. They cannot accept a physical SIM.
eSIM-compatible phones:
iPhones starting from the iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, and iPhone XR series onward support eSIM.
Notably, the iPhone 14 and 15 series lack a physical SIM tray, meaning they exclusively rely on eSIM for activation.
Many of the latest flagship Android phones also support eSIM. Refer to the list below for specific eSIM-compatible devices and models. If your device needs to be listed, please revisit this list.
As eSIM technology continues gaining traction, we anticipate more devices will incorporate this feature in future updates.
