Android - eSIM manual setup instructions

For customers using our Premium cellular voice service

Important: Please allow 5 minutes before trying to activate your eSIM.

eSIMs can only be used with phones that are eSIM compatible. Click here for a list of eSIM compatible phones.

This article will help you install your eSIM card manually. It's best to use the QR code (or click the link) that is sent to you by email, after your SIM card activation. Scanning the QR code (or clicking on the link) will automatically enter your unique activation code and other configuration details into your phone, making eSIM setup very quick and easy!

However, if you’re having trouble using the QR code or link that was sent to you, you may set up your eSIM manually.

These steps must be completed while your phone is connected to WiFi. Your phone’s operating system will be updated during this process, if necessary, to enable Dual-SIM functionality. Dual-SIM functionality is needed for eSIM to work.

These steps apply to android devices only. For iPhone, click here

To manually set up your eSIM, the SIM must be activated. If you have not already, visit freedompop.com/activate and enter your confirmation code, found in the delivery receipt which was sent to you by email.

After activation, you’ll receive your activation code by email.

Step 1:

Connect your phone to WiFi.

This step is very important.

If you're inside your phone's VoLTE settings right now, go back to your device's Settings main menu and tap on Network & Internet.

Tap on Add Mobile Network (or tap on the “+” icon).

Step 2:

Select Download A SIM Instead.

Tap on Need Help.

Tap on Enter Details Manually and enter the information in Step 3.

Step 3:

Our SM-DP+ Address is: rsp-4002.idemia.io.

Activation Code: This is a 45 character code that was sent to you by email and presented to you after activation. It looks like this: ABC:0$RSP-1234.IDEMIA.IO$ABCDE-FGHIJ-KLMNO-PQRST

Confirmation Code: This is an 11 digit number sent to you by email after your order for your plan was delivered. The confirmation code is not required. You do not need to enter it, to complete eSIM setup.

Step 4:

You may be asked to label your new line as home, work, or some other line type. Make your selections.

Inside your eSIM settings, make sure internet services (labeled LTE or Mobile Data) are turned ON.

Place a phone call to a standard landline or cellular phone number. This helps to initiate your calling and texting services. Do not place a call to a WhatsApp or Google Voice number.
